This book is excellent and belongs to the collection of the best books
available which include Larson, Hostetler & Edwards, Louis Leithold, Michael Sullivan, Tom Apostol, Marvin Bittinger, and Courant.
The only reservation I have is that the 9th edition of Calculus by Thomas
and Finney does a better job for students engaged in self-study. It is
also a better reference for inclusion in a mathematics library.

If you are a math or physics major your library must include Apostol,
Courant, and Leithold because they are properly rigorous but written
with such clarity that they are accessable to well motivated students.
That same library should include the Thomas and Finney 9th edition be-
cause sometimes a new topic is better introduced on a more intuitive
level.
